There are a lot of belly dancers that Ive seen that dont need glitter and beadwork. I know when belly dance first started out it was what you called in your video a “simple student costume”, and everyone wore it not just students. Color is another thing, lighter tones stay with lighter tone costumes, and darker complexions can wear darker costumes. it all depends on what you feel comfortable with!
