Alright, I am not a big fan of Halloween, but my girlfriend loves it and wants to do something with me this year. She is going as a gypsy, and wants me to dress up too. I hate wigs and masks, and most costumes make me look completely ridiculous. She wants to try and make me look like an emo for Halloween, but I am opposed to that because she mentioned eyeliner. God I love Halloween! Go to your local thrift stores! Maybe something like a voodoo queen. That would creep some people out and you can still be feminine. You could make a shrunken head with an apple. Just carve out a little face on an apple and let it sit until halloween. The apple will get all shriveled and brown and disfigured. Then thread some string through it and carry it around on your belt. Maybe add some hair with string. I don't know how you'd get it on there, maybe glue.

Where can I find cheap Renaissance costumes?

Where can I find cheap, but good Renaissance costumes? I know they are expensive, but anything that is cheaper. Or at least a semi cheap bodice. The clothes don't have to be all renaissance, but something medieval themed. They can be a peasant, gypsie or whatever outfit but I would prefer one that includes a nice dress (something like a princess outfit). This is for a renaissance fair... so something in that genre I would appreciate.

Or, do you have any ideas on how to build a cheap renaissance faire costume that is for a princess (nothing that shows the stomach because I heard you get made fun of if you dress like a witch or belly dancer or gypsy).

I have the same problem, heres how I fixed it.

1. THRIFT - For the last 2 years, I've been thrifting most of my costumes. I ask friends if they have fake corsets (they were popular in the 90s?) and I search old stores to see if they have anything. I've found something without fail.

2. Halloween Costume Stores - They sell really cheaply made stuff. But the good part is, some of their costumes have nice, fake velvet under/over dresses that can be used to make a nice-looking princess dress.

3. Dont be afraid to splurge - If you know you'll wear it for the next 4+ years, then spend the $200 on a really nice costume. Chances are, you'll be glad (like I was) because you'll wear it for years to come, and you can laugh at the people AT the faire spending $400 on the same thing.

Ebay is always a good one, I've also found great things at some of the websites listed.

Also, where did you hear people get made fun of if they dress like a Gypsy or Bellydancer? Im apart of the Bellydancing group that does the Faire in my City, and no one EVER gets made fun of. They get hit on a lot by the cute men, though. ;)

Ok, here's the deal. I went out and bought myself a gypsy costume, but I have no idea what kind of hair, makeup, and accessories a gypsy would wear. Please help me! Pictures, websites, tutorials, and videos would all be totally awesome!
By the way, the skirt is a rich, velvety blue with a dark pink sash that has gold coins sewn to the bottom. The top is a white off-the-shoulder peasant blouse. Finally, the look is completed with a thick, black, 'leather' belt with gold embelishments.

A loose shirt maybe off the shoulder. And a scarf or something to tye around your waste.
Some & lots of bangles. And a scarf or something to tye into your hair.

I'm going to a renaissance faire tomorrow morning and while I'm going to look for my old white peasant top tomorrow morning, I need to know what I should wear instead if I can't find it. The only loose type of top I have is a grey, plain, very loose short sleeved shirt. Other than that, all I have is t-shirts or tank tops.......

You could refer to it as a peasant top or pirate shirt. Those would be your best bet, Both would produce the same result as a gypsy shirt as they are all the same thing but have different names due to their application.

So. Yesterday i went to a halloween party, this girl was dressed up like lady gaga, she looked really good in that costume! Anyways i was sitting down on the couch, i was buzzed from drinking some vodka, my friend was like take a picture with my friend who is a drink gypsy! And she's like the drunk part i like but she didn't say anything nice about my halloween costume; she didn't say anything at all. Why are girls like that with other girls; seriousley? I compliment her but she doesn't say anything nice towards me.

Your choice looks really good!

Here's another thought: Surprise your boy friend by you picking out his costume for him. Tell him he's going, but won't know until that evening when he comes for you. You'll give it to him then. This way it will be a double surprise. Yeah, have him pay for his by giving you the money (in advance).

As for suggestions . . . The one I really like is the guy is an escaped convict. You can either be his girl friend (who helped him) OR his hostage. In the case of his hostage, he could play the part of guy who went in real young and has never even been on a date with a girl. You could act scared of him and other cool acting stuff.

As for his uniform, I'd recommend a two piece uniform -- either scrubs or denim -- along with slip-on sneakers. You can look at PX:Direct -- http://www.pxdirect.com for ideas or even to buy from them. Honestly, make the sneakers cheap and not expensive as inmates shouldn't have nice clothing!

As for yourself, you could be in really short shorts, t-shirt, sneakers, etc. Something that would make a boy friend or guy whose has been around girls before hot.

Anyway, its not something I've seen done, so it should be unique.

I'm a 13 year old girl, looking for costume ideas. FIRST I'd like to say not to bother answering with "ur 13, u shuldnt be tricker treatin'" or something along those lines. I have to take my younger sister, and so I figure if I have to go, I might as well get candy out of it! SECOND I live in Canada, so I can't do anything that reveals any skin, really, because it would be way too cold. I can't do anything that uses really light materials either (like a gypsy etc.)

I like scary things, like vampires and witches (both of which I've been), but I like the cutesey stuff too (fairies etc.)

What's a good halloween costume for a thirteen year old?

I want something not slutty because,well, I'm only thirteen. I usually make my own costumes but I just need some ideas. I'm tall, white, and I have dark blonde hair and green eyes. Some ideas I had were gypsy, genie or go-go girl. Can you find me some pictures?

Teenage girl looking for Halloween costume idea! Nothing slutty.?

Well I'm slim, flippy brown hair, and I'm looking for something UNIQUE! Nothing like a gypsy, or witch, or bride (I'm also nicknamed Alice because my hair is pretty much identical to Alice's in the Twilight movie - I do NOT want to be any mainstream character). Something original! I'm hoping for something that wouldn't cost a lot, maybe something I could pick up the pieces for at a thrift store or Value Village. I'm a musician and a gamer, but I think my friends would disown me if I showed up dressed like Rikku or Yuna lol. All ideas appreciated!

You know, you have to really step out of your box to like this idea. But I went to the club two years ago dressed as a man. As realistically as I possibly could. I went as a "vato" because I'm mexican and it worked well.

I just borrowed the flyest outfit my guy friend owned and taped down my boobs. Drew on some facial hair. And bought a grill.

Anyway I had about a dozen chicks hitting on me, I ran around trying to start fights with guys. And when it came time for the costume contest, I got up there, they only "guy" and did my dance... I got very few cheers then heard someone yell "whys that guy on stage!"
I have so maaaany funny stories from that night from helping my friend make her ex jealous (hey im pretty as a guy or girl! Lol) to scaring another guy out of the club. And best, offering kisses to the guys i normally turn down lol... Only one could man up and do it with me so handsome!

Hi. My friend and I are stuck on a VERY last minute halloween costume. We want to be original and not buy a store-bought costume. Fore example two years ago we were mimes, and the year after we were bikers. the more offensive the better Thanks in advance! Good Halloween costume for an 11 year old girl?

I'm 11 years old and am a girl. Theres a 6th grade Halloween dance happening on Halloween. And I wanna look hot, but not innapropriate. There will probably be lots of parents there but the dudes in my class are already starting to ask the girls out (yah I know its soooo early!!) So far theres only two or three girls that got asked out but I need a costume. Dont give me things like a cat, a devil, or any of those childish costumes. I could be something like a gypsy or something. I'm not fat but not really skinny, im about average. I am short for my age and I have curly/wavy blonde hair and dark blue eyes. My hair is about 6 inches from my butt but I Strait iron it or tease it if I have to. If you have any other questions that might help fit me to a costume, please ask and I will put it on Additional Details. And my personality is, Tomboyish, but not super tom-boy. And I have a few friends who are guys. I tend to be very fiesty. So what costumes could fit my personality??
I'm not freaking out!! I think its HILARIOUS!!!! I found out about that stuff today and whenever I think about it I start cracking up for some reason. Just forget about the dance part and just give me costumes!!!!!!
And when I said red dye in my hair, I meant streaks!!
Okay what do u think about this? I will wear a black short-skirt with fishnet stockings (dont know how to put it) and a will wear a black tank-top with nothing on it and I will put my curly blonde hair in two high ponytail (the kind with one on each side of my head.) and I will tease my ponytail and put bright red hair dye in them. Then I will put on tons of mascara, eye liner, and purple lip-stick. Like it??
And when I said red dye in my hair, I meant streaks!!

Okay, first off, you're 11, and you really shouldn't be freaking out over guys asking girls out. It's a joke, really. I'd stay away from stupid boys until you're older, a relationship at 11 doesn't mean anything, a play-date maybe.... If you're still trying to pull something off, how about Tinkerbell? She has a short dress and blonde hair! And no, it's not childish! There are adult and teenage women who dress up as her.

HALLOWEEN COSTUME, PLEASE HELP!!?

Hi, I'm a 13 year old girl and I need to get a halloween costume, NOT buy one though. I'm looking for a good costume that is easy to make using at-home materials or things that are very easy to find in stores everywhere. My back-up plan is a gypsy, because I was that lat year but i really dont want to repeat myself. I need something that I can wear to school, nothing revealing and something that is hopefully unique. I am in the drama department so crazy things are OK too.I need something that I can change out of easily, too because I have gym class that day. I also must be able to sit down inside of it....PLEASE HELP ME!!!

In the PAST she has ALREADY dressed up as:
a flower child, Rainbow Brite, a fairy, , , Gypsy Girl, Punky Lil Pirate, and a Lil Red Devil.....
I know that it's a lil early to be worrying about this such thing but I am currently 8 months pregnant and my baby is due in early October. I have a 9 year old daughter and I was wondering if anyone could give me any costume ideas. Every site I go on I cannot seem to find anything appropriate for her age. She would have to have a size 14/16 or an XL in children's and there is never nothing in her size and the tween/teen costumes are so trashy looking. I just know that I will be so busy tending to a new baby that I wont have much free time to costume shop for her and this is why I am going to try to get this ordered asap. If anyone has any suggestions or websites please feel free to help me out. I just cannot get over how slutty looking all these costumes are turning into!!!!!!!!!!

I know, right? When shopping for myself I couldn't believe the tween costumes either. Kids are growing up too fast.

You could always peruse a thrift store for ideas. If you found a black dress she liked, you could always get black lace and she could be a gothic bride. One of the cutest outfits I ever saw was a storm cloud. The child was covered in white balloons with silver tinsel attached at the bottom - and she carried a cardboard lightening bolt.

I'm not sure about ordering stuff online, I usually make my own costumes.

I'm a 14 year old girl, and I am soo going trick or treating this year!
The only problem is I don't know what to be for halloween.
I was thinking a pirate, fairy, maybe a gypsy.

I was hoping for something less expensive. I have about $20-$30 to spend on my entire outfit. I don't want to buy a whole costume off a website or in some store, since I may not want to be the same thing next year.

Also, what should I carry around to collect my treats? A pillowcase seems too trashy...

You gould be wilma fromt eh flintstones!! Rly easy!! Just get a white dress( a cheap one), a white chinky necklace, and maybe a wig......unless ur hair is red
