What are some cool costume ideas for guys?

So, Halloween is coming up and it's time for us to pick our costumes for the holiday. This year, I'm going out to a party/club/something with my girl & I wanted a costume that would be, for lack of a better word. . . cool. I don't want any masks, anything scary/gory, or anything too overdone/corny (i.e. The Joker or any other "trend" costumes like that which will be out in droves).

Just something nice-looking, sexy, etc.

Also, we don't want to do a "couples costume" this year, so it won't matter what she's going as (she's deciding between a Greek goddess, gypsy or something like that).

I've been a witch a lot, so not really up to suggest that. Sorry! Pirates are cool, but they can be revaling sometimes. *corsses pirates off list* I like fairys! But, I also like Sailors (BSSM=Bishojou Senshi Sailor Moon or in english Sailor Moon) I want to be a princess, but I'm afraid people will stare, but if you're not then that's great!!! So maybe a fairy, or a princess. (I want to be Sailor Moon but I'm afarid of people starring)
But I love a lot of those ideas!!! Hope it helps. (I vote for fairy/sailorette/ or Victorian Princess, I want to do that one. ^_^"

I have heard the same thing over again gypsy, doll, ladybug, princess, but that is not what I want to be... my mom won't let me buy a costume ... so I am kinda stuck with the thrift store down the street and my closet... any costumes that are super cute and maybe a little scary that are not hard to make?? p.s. Skeleton!!: you can get these skeleton tights at walmart for $3 and cut up and old white shirt! (the shirts a DIY just google "cut out skull shirt" and YouTube tutorials should come up!) then just do skeleton makeup.

HOW TO announce a HALLOWEEN dance at school! 10points?

SO at school me and my friend are going to announce the yearly Halloween dance which is a huge deal at school! We go 2 high school! that's for arts students! So it's gotta be cool! I don't have any ideas as to how we should present the idea. Like we will have on our costumes and be in front of the whole school. We were thinking about doing a skit..but we don't have any ideas. My costume is the mad hatter , and hers is the gypsy from Notre Dame. Do you guys have any ideas for skits that r like 1-2 minutes long? Or any better ideas on how we should say hey theres a dance this saturday! come!

How to make a super-cheap gypsy costume? 10 points Best answer!?

Okay, Ten points best answer....Me and my cousin are going as gypsy's fo Halloween...I could use ANY help! Makeup or hair tips even. What could I find in my closet or at a discount store to help me make a gypsy costume. We are both 13. And I have no idea what kind of top. ANYBODY HELP ME! HALLOWEEN IS IN ONE WEEK! And what do I do for my hair and my cousins, I was thinking curl it? OMG, I seriously need help.

You might have to raid your mom's closet for this one. I would start off with a white, puffy blouse and find a chunky brown belt. Also, find a funky scarf to wrap around your waist like in the picture. To make the look younger, I think you should find short, cute "gypsy" like skirts. You could maybe wear your Uggs for shoes. For the final touch, big gold . If you can't find any of this at your hosue you can always go shopping at Target of Forever21. OR (sorry :) you could just get a bohemian blouse, jeans, and a funky scarf. That might be easiest. OR a dress. Have fun! :)

Last year my little girl (10 mths) and my little boy (5) were a dalmation and a fireman...way too cute. I put red ribbon bows on the dalmation ears so that you could tell she was a girl dog. It's a theme party and it's outdoors. The clown, the gypsy, dart thrower, bearded lady, ring master, jester, have been taken. I'd like to be original...any ideas??

gypsy costume's hairstyle??? please help?

i'm being a gypsy and i need a good hairstyle...all i own is a bunch of rubberbands and clips and accessories, but i dont have anything like gel or mousse or curling irons (for hairstyling tools all i have is terrible hairspray and a brush =P)

so what can I do? im trying to go for the on the move gypsy in a caravan kind of look...the kind thatll be dancing around a fire at night...

also i know what kind of bottom and accessories i am wearing but i dont know what to do for my top...any ideas which i can easily do by myself at home cuz i dont have time or money to go to any store to buy materials or a shirt so i got to use the stuff i have.

and im sorry im not trying to offend anyone...and still not trying to be rude but people dress as nerds and cheerleaders and witches and ghosts and animals and firefighters and celebrities (just a list from the top of my head) and you can't be picky about offending all those different groups of people...otherwise there would be no halloween

I'm sure you have a bandana laying around, right? Just tie your hair down in it. Don't try putting your hair in a ponytail or anything, just take the bandana, wrap it around the top of your head and tie it at the back on top of your hair, at your neckline, then leave your hair loose. That's the best way I can think of. Good luck.

Gypsy Halloween Costume?

I want to be either Esmeralda from The Hunchback of Notre Dam. (Because I'm tan and have dark hair.)
For the skirt, I was planning to try to find some purple fabric and go to a lady to make it into a skirt. But for the sash, where can I buy or get those dangling gold coins hanging from her sash? And How many skirts would I have to wear? And I don't know where to get the blouse or the corset?

Or is there any other character that's brown skin/brown hair and tan to match me?
I would like to make my own costume, so therefore I'm trying to figure it out NOW.

I looked up a picture of Esmerelda, and you would only need one skirt. The coins fringe can be found at Joann's I believe, and can simply be added to the sash. And you could try to see if you could find a corset at maybe party city or ask the lady to make you a simple corset.

Also, the only other character that comes to mind with similar coloring is Jasmine. I don't know if this costume would be hard for you to make, or if you would like to buy one, because I saw one at Party City's website, BUT it is expensive. If I play the violin while trick or treating as a gypsy, will I get more candy?

For Halloween, I am going to be a gypsy (real gypsy clothes, not the cheap walmart costume)! Layered skirts, lacy top, long black curly hair, heavy eye makeup and false lashes, etc. If I play some gypsy songs on my violin, do you think it will go well with the costume, and as a result get more candy?

It's a great idea, but I doubt that it will get you more candy. Most adults I know try to be fair and give every kid that comes to the door the same amount.

If you have a good violin, don't take it out in the elements that way. That's not how you treat an instrument.

Girls, if you are having trouble coming up with a Halloween costume, I will give you a little tip: All you need is a basic black dress. Add heels, , and dark make-up and you are a goth girl. Add scarves, bangles, and dangling earrings and you are a gypsy. Add cat ears and draw whiskers on your face and you are a cat. Add wings and a wand and you are a midnight fairy.

So if you need a last minute Halloween costume idea just think: Little black dress. :)

I'm thinking of doing something like a gypsy woman, fairy, or a parisian girl. Do any of you have any suggestions about what to wear or do with my hair, or make-up? And if all your going to do is tell me not to wear any of those and give me some stupid suggestions just to get points, PLEASE DON'T.

I am throwing a chic and elegant costume party that I throw each year. This is meant to be glamorous and fun. In previous years themes have been old hollywood, gypsies, flappers. I would like some ideas that would allow guests to both look dashing and chic but also have some fun and creativity

For my 20th birthday I had a masquerade ball, and it was a lot of fun. I pretty much suggested people could come in old prom dresses and masks (or costumes, if they had the money) and the boys come in suits and masks. 90% did it because it wasnt too hard to put together outfits. I even took a page from the movie Amadeus and played Couples Musical Chairs (same old game, but you have to dance with a partner around the chairs) it was probably my best party.

I'm looking for a good Halloween costume. In the past i have been things like:

Cheetah
Gypsy

I want something fun and creative that i don't have to go out and buy. Like i can buy parts of it but not the whole costume set. Any ideas????

Cereal Killer Costume

It’s made by simply gluing cereal all over a pair of pajamas. The ensemble is completed with a pair of house slippers, and a kitchen spoon to be carried around. Onlookers will question the costume, and likely be impressed with the answer, “cereal killer.”

Aquarium:

Turn a large cardboard box upside down and cut holes for your arms and head. Cut a square piece out of the front, paint the box silver or black, and glue in a piece of clear blue plastic. Attach fake fish, fake plants, etc. Behind the plastic. Glue a box of fish food and a fish net to the top edge of the box. Wear all white clothes underneath.

Vending Machine:

Find a rectangular box large enough to wear over your body. Paint it black and decorate the front with buttons, coin slot, etc. Add "Snack Machine" to the top, and a fake opening at the bottom that says "PUSH." Cut a rectangular area out of the middle, cover with clear plastic, and place a variety of real or fake snack items behind it.

I am going to a halloween party and I am on the chubby side. So I still want to look sexy for halloween. I am chossing between two costumes.

I love tequila and mexico ( I am not mexican, but love it). I never seen anyone wear this costume or something close to it. I wanted to make it cute. The costume they sell is just a simple dress and I want to stand out.

Dumb blonde- take a blonde wig with a pink outfit and act stupid lolz
Gangsta- get a like suit I guess and wear like a bullet sash
No masks needed for any of these things. U can als be a nerd too. That is really easy- fake glasses, nerdy shirt and skirt with a tie.

Halloween costume ideas please!?

So I was planning to go as some kind of super hero I thought it was a cute idea but then I told my best friend my idea and a couple weeks later she told me she'll do that. I like the idea of being a gypsy but my other friend wants that and well the point of the story is that I am way too nice!

I'm going to a boy/girl Halloween party and I don't want one of those slutty costumes that they sell right now, because I am just not comfortable with that, but most of the girls will be dressed like that. I was thinking of a Spanish dancer, or something pretty and original and not way over the top.

Do you guys have any original but not weird ideas?
P.S. I have been a witch, a fairy, an angel, a devil etc.

-Vampire. Not ugly, you know like just a short black dress with vampire teeth?

-Cheerleader. Nothing sluty. Just two ponytails, and a cheer leading costume.

-"Dead" bride. Classic :)

-Movie stars or singers. Ex. Hannah Montana (who I hate, lol)

-Baby. Pacifier, baby PJs, slippers. Ponytails and freckles would be so cute!

Any ideas for my costume? I already know what I'm being...?

OK so for Halloween I'm gonna be a Gypsy...yeah I know kinda weird for Halloween, but not really once you think about it. Anyway, I looked through Costume Express and found two Gypsy costume, one looked cute but kinda childish and the other looked a little too slutty for my taste. I'm a teenager, but I still don't really like to dress like a slut. So basically,I was wondering what I could do to either a) spice up these costumes or b) make my own. I was thinking cliche stuff, like head scarf, long dress or skirt, lots of jewelry, etc., but I want your suggestions too. Oh and I already have this pink skirt that's about mid-thigh/ and looks kind of Gypsy-like if that would help.

was a Gypsy for halloween last year. She got a really nice costume from a renaissance fair. It wasn't childish or slutty and it really looked like a gypsy. If you don't get a chance to go there you could always look online. Ebay always has things, even if you don't buy anything you can always get ideas. You can also look and see if party city has a costume you like. (www.partycity.com) They also have costume packages and accesories that you can put together to design your costume. Hope this helps! :D

You could do like a girls version of the mad hatter, Ive seen a few variations online, but you could put together the outfit yourself like you said.
The last I went to was a 'anywhere but here' party and I was a Japanese School girl which was cute.
Also Harujuku girl is a popular costume. Or a Geisha
Ive worn formal military outfits with badges before ( with a short pleated skirt instead of pants)
Punk works too because you can put together all sorts of things with coloured hair
Celebrities work too as long as you make it known or obvious who you are for example Joan Jett has been popular lately epecially in a Runaways T shirt or if its really funny people like it too
Think of your favorite films and maybe pick a character

I'd like to know your guys' ideas for halloween outfits. I dont want the traditional batwoman, pirate, bunny, fairy type costumes. Something creative yet fun nd sexy.

Plus, I was thinking about being a gypsy or a goddess.

Any suggestions on where to get the costume/appearal for being a gypsy or goddess? or any of your halloween costume ideas? That would be a big help.

Help. Gypsy Dancer Costume?

I've got a very nice long skirt as part of my costume already. Nice burgundy/tan shades that goes nicely with my hip belt which is also burgundy. I need a top to go with it. I would like for it to cover my stomach but also still look like it goes with the rest of the costume. Any ideas?

Esmeralda/Gypsy ideas for ballet?

I will be performing as Esmeralda (a gypsy) soon in a ballet like performance (solo, so no interation with other performers), and I have my costume all planned out, and many ideas for choreography, but I am needing ideas as far as props. I already have a tambourine with ribbons, perhaps a crystal ball?? I've used scarves when portraying gypsies before, but I am just coming up blank.

Also, anyone know of any very spanish/gypsy sounding music which I may use to choreograph to? I have all the espanole varitions from Swan Lake, Coppelia, Don Quiote (Kitri), Nutcracker, and am trying to download the actual score to the ballet of Hunchback. Are there any other spanish solos/variations in ballets that I am missing, or just any good cd's with lots of flamenco-ish songs on them?

Carmen!!! duh! I am so embarrassed :-P
I am a retired professional ballet dancer, so was trained in a hodge-podge of character/ethnic dancing. I was going to be making it a mix of flamenco and belly dancing, due to the way her character is protrayed. Any time I've portrayed a gypsy in a ballet it's been a mix of the too with of course good spanish Sautes and nice grand battemements, the big showy stuff. This peice just requires a lot more character developement, props more than usual, and emotions besides the normal sultry

Opps, ran out of time, I'll check in on you guys later....note...it can't have modern words to it, it HAS to be orchestrated, ballet/flamenco type music, that is MUST for my preference.

Hi.. I'm an amateur choreographer. I suggest you try one of the themes from the Carmen suite by Bizet. They are very spanish and at the same time created by a French. This combines the spanish - gipsy music with the french that is Esmeralda with Notre Dame.... All clever and educated persons of the audience will acknowlege the combination... As an alternative try the music of the group B-Tribe ....

: In my humble opinion, it's quite tacky looking (not in a slutty sense but the actual quality and colour of the fabric). Then again, my opinion could differ greatly from yours.

Jonah Hex Lilah costume: pretty cool looking, but I'd imagine a lot of people wouldn't know what you're dressed up as.

First SWAT costume: be wary that the costume only includes the hat, dress and belt - the stockings and boots aren't included. Other than that, I think that if you were to go for that look, it'd probably be very easy to recreate that costume yourself: embroider the word "SWAT" onto a small piece of rectangular black fabric and sew the fabric onto a slutty plain or plain black long T-shirt, embroider "SWAT" onto a plain black hat (embroidering the words on isn't as difficult as it might sound and after Halloween is over, you can easily remove the stitches), get some fishnet stockings and black heeled boots (you probably own these or can borrow them from a friend) for the "slutty" effect and buy a few accessories (gun etc that you could get from the toys aisle in a shop) to go with it.

Maid costume: Again, be wary that the stockings and shoes are sold separately, if you already own stockings and shoes that would go with the costume that's not an issue but if you don't it could be if you're on a budget. Other than that, it's an OK costume - I've seen better maid costumes myself, but it's still good. If you're wearing stockings and not tights with it, I would highly recommend wearing hot pants - small enough that you can't see them when wearing the dress, but that also prevent accidentally flashing people.

Trophy Rack: I personally ain't a fan of this one, mainly because in the picture, you can't actually read the words "Trophy Rack" properly. Also an obvious point to note - you'd probably need a big rack to pull it off. Just sayin'.

Nautical costume: Love it. Again, you might need hot pants for modesty, and the stockings and shoes aren't included, other than that it's perfect.

Firefighter costume: Like the first SWAT costume, this is quite plain and relatively easy to make yourself with a few pieces of fabric, a black belt and a hat (which you could buy off the site separately or in the toy aisle in a shop).

Second SWAT costume: I think this one is better than the first SWAT costume. It wouldn't be as easy to recreate by yourself but it looks good, maybe get a toy gun to go with it?

Officer costume: Basically everything in this costume fits into two categories: 1. You either own it or can borrow it (i.e. The clothes), 2. You can buy it in a toy aisle (the accessories). I'd see it as a waste of money to buy this outfit, since you could probably make a better DIY version.

Pow-Wow costume: The fabric looks very tacky to me, I wouldn't go for it.

My favourite costuime here would have to be the nautical costume for sure. Other costume ideas that would be easy enough to DIY:

Cowgirl: flannel shirt - very tight fitting with either a deep V neck or the first few buttons undone for a slutty look, with a cowboy hat, jeans, brown belt, brown cowboy boots, maybe even a piece of rope tied into a lasso

Nerd: checkered shirt (again, if you want to go for a slutty nerd wear a tightly fitted one with a deep V or a few buttons undone), plain jumper over your shirt (optional), 3D glasses (the big black-framed ones) with the lenses taken out, hair in high pigtails, plain hairband, calculator, inhaler...you get the idea.

I got this stupid gypsy costume because my premature excitement for Halloween came on the first of this month. I've changed my mind obviously lol. I want something cute but something that's appropriate for school. Is it okay to wear a corset to school as part of a costume?

I'm going to a school dance, in costume (as a gypsy). But on all the websites I visited, they say that a corset over your shirt is NECESSARY. It makes sense, but would it be weird if I actually wore a corset to "school"? I'm thirteen BTW, and I only have A-B cups.

It doesn't have to be an actual corset-it's more like a string vest, which should be fine, and definitely more comfortable. It also depends on your school's dress code, but I think most schools might frown on you wearing an actual corset.

What are some unique for Renaissance Faire?

My theater group is going to a Renaissance Faire in a couple of weeks and the director insists that our costumes be realistic, which means no nymph costumes :( lol. So far I know we have the option to dress up as queens/princesses, pirates, gypsies, and Scotsmen. Can anyone help me find an idea for an alternative unique, but realistic, costume?

You could choose a specific historical character or character from literature to make your costume unique. Anne Boleyn, Joan of Arc, Maid Marion or Lady Macbeth would all be really interesting choices.

Costume ideas for a teenage girl?

Okay, so unlike in America, in my country we have a tradition to wear costumes on April Fools' Day. I am a 14 year old girl and I need ideas for a costume. I can't buy a costume because currently I can't afford it. But I probably can buy some accessories and a wig. I want to be something interesting and original. I am considering the idea of being a nerdy girl, or a hippie, or a 80's girl. Do you have any other ideas? I would really be great if you can help me. Also, I don't want to be a vampire, a ghost, a cat, a bunny or a gypsy (these costumes are very common). Thank you for your answers! :)

An 80's girl would be veyr cheap and easy. Wear bright leggings, a baggy off the shoulder colourful top, make your hair big, wear a big hair bow. Hoop earrings???
I went to an 80's party once and i wore pink stockings, a puffy white skirt/tutu thing, a white singlet, a purple fishnet top over the singlet and a big blue hair bow and a chunky blue beaded necklace. And green hoop earrings

Hippie would also be easy. Hippie dresses are in at the moment (or they were in recently) so you should be able to get a cheap on somewhere locally. Head scarves, flowers, peace signs, jewellry, etc.
